NEXT

Brought out the other crow painting only just begun...

Using the same 3 colors as in the background (top), I added paint to the crows and wing.  Not finished yet - some tweaking to do.

Then on to some paintings from reference photos taken when we were in Anna Maria (herons, royal terns, flowers and plants, etc.)

Primary Feathers

Rhonda - catching up with your previous posts. Looks like the crows have captured your imagination. Love the three colors you have chosen for the feathers and background. The turquoise is very eye catching. Hope you have a lovely valentine's day. Hugs!

Thanks, Debbie. I was pleased with the turquoise and how it pops here and there in the painting :)

the wing coming out of nowhere is really interesting :D

Thanks, Jennifer Rose. It's from a sketch I did of the wing anatomy and thought I'd just add it here - just a floating wing but calling this one Primary Feathers kind of ties it in, I hope. Again, not a winning painting but I did like the way the turquoise worked with the other colors and will try to remember that in future paintings. Keep that turquoise handy! ha ha

I like the energy to this composition and the push pull between the background and birds. Looking good!
